Ahmad Shah Qajar b. 1898 d. 1930, was the last Shah of the Qajar family. He ascended to the Peacock Throne on 16 July 1909 at the age of 11. He ruled Persia until 1921. Stripped of all his remaining powers, Ahmad Shah went into exile with his family in 1923. The time of his rule had been difficult and tumultuous times in Persia with internal unrest and foreign intrusions, particularly by the British and Russian Empires. In a coup, the Minister of War and commander, Colonel Reza Khan seized power as Prime Minister. In 1925 he was proclaimed Shah and took the title Reza Shah Pahlavi. Persian Arabic.
