This unusual paper commemorates the Grand Gymnastic Entertainment and Competition of 1887-1888 that took place in the cities of Australia and New Zealand. The folder is decorated with an illustration showing a Hungarian gymnast with various items of gymnastics equipment: vaulting horse, fencing, dumbbell, rod, Roman rings, ladder, horizontal bars, and parallel bars. Cities in Australia where the events took place : Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne are noted on the left side of the wrapper. These athletic/gymnastic event in 1887-1888 predate the first modern Olympic games which took place in Athens in 1896
