This was a gift for Australian troops from the Darwin branch of the Australia Comforts Fund, an Australian women's aid group, similar to the American Red Cross. The bombing of Darwin occurred in February 1942.
ACF formed in 1914, and was active through 1920 for WWI combat troops.  ACF then reformed in 1940-1946 for WWII.
