Booklet most likely issued to commemorate the second coronation of Ferdinand VII.
Fernando VII was twice king of Spain. First crowned in 1808, when he ruled for two months before abdicating to Napoleon during the Peninsular Wars. Napoleon installed his brother Joseph Bonaparte as King of Spain before returning the throne to Fernando in 1813. Fernando ruled until his death in 1833. Historians consider Fernando VII to be Spain’s worst king, selfish and unconcerned with the plight of his people. While this booklet could have been made at any time prior to his death, it is most likely this was produced to commemorate either coronation of 1808 or 1813, as he was not a popular leader and referred to as The Felon King.
